Reflexology is a complementary therapy which promotes deep relaxation and wellbeing.

Releasing stress and relieving tension is essential for improving health. Reflexology is beneficial in supporting standard healthcare as well as providing an opportunity to feel relaxed and pampered.

Reflexology has its roots in ancient healing practices, but the modern therapy was developed in the 1920s. It is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body, and reflexologists work these points and areas to release blocked energy. The treatment is non-invasive and highly restorative.

Reflexology is suitable for all ages. It is recognised by the NHS and used to support people with a wide variety of health and wellbeing concerns.

Reflexology found me at several challenging and pivotal points in my life, and I can honestly say it has been life-changing for me.

After taking a break from teaching to be home with my children, and wanting to change career direction, I just knew it had to be reflexology. To be able to help and support people in the same way that my reflexologists helped me is such an honour, and I feel extremely lucky to be living my passion.

I trained with the Cotswold Academy and hold a Level 3 ITEC Diploma in Reflexology. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists, which means I adhere to exceptional standards and I am fully insured.

As well as the feet and hands, there are also reflex points on the face and ears. I have trained with the world-renowned Ziggy Bergman and have a certificate in Bergman Method facial reflexology, which is an incredibly relaxing, soothing treatment.

I am also trained in Indian Head Massage, Swedish back and shoulder massage, luxury facials and Reiki 2, plus I am a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor.

I am based in Frampton Cotterell and can treat from my cosy cottage, plus I provide mobile appointments in the South Gloucestershire area.

Reflexology and stress

The body's stress response is incredible, but it was never designed to be triggered so frequently. Regular doses of emotional and physical stress leave the mind and body on high alert, with precious resources diverted away from digestion, healing and growth, and hormones unbalanced. This can lead to anxiety, fatigue, low mood, digestive issues and issues with the menstrual cycle.

Reflexology is a powerful way to counteract this. During a reflexology treatment the body is able to switch off the stress response and enter the rest and digest state. It can prioritise self-healing and return to its natural balance, helping you to feel more calm, more energised and more healthy.
